Progressio is an international development organisation working for justice and the eradication of poverty. Its position on genetic engineering and specifically on genetically modified (GM) crops comes from a concern to tackle poverty and its causes. It makes no comment on the science of genetic engineering, but rather on the potential impacts of GM crops in relation to the lives of poor farmers in developing countries.
